This week’s MoBro of the week is yet another rocker. It just seems that in the music world, rock and metal musicians have the best Moustaches. This week we are featuring the rhythm guitarist from Atlanta’s Mastodon, Bill Kelliher.

Although is known mainly for his impressive driving prog/sludge metal riffs and complex rhythm arrangements, he is also the grower of an amazing Outlaw style ‘stache that is very porn star like. Originally clean shaven, Kelliher starting growing his current incarnation of his moustache around 2009. A massive Star Wars fan (Kelliher is covered in Star Wars tattoos and is the owner of a huge Star Wars collection).

Bill Kelliher’s Moustache is so famous it even has a 8,400 strong Facebook page dedicated to his stunning soup strainer.

Aside from his stunning moustache, Kelliher has been with Mastodon since it’s inception back in early 2000. Since then the band have gone on to record 6 albums: Remission (2002), Leviathan (2004), Blood Mountain (2006), Crack the Skye (2009), The Hunter (2011) and their latest release Once More ‘Round the Sun (2014).

The band has even been nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance in 2007 (Colony of Birchmen) and in 2012 (Curl of the Burl) as well as numerous nominations and awards for different metal awards. Specifically Bill and fellow Gat man and band mate Brent Hinds won the Golden Gods Award for Best Shredder in 2007 for their album Blood Mountain.

Mastodon are a Prog metal band that prove to be popular throughout the mainstream as well as keeping metal ‘snobs’ interested. Mastodon are just one of those bands that are consistently amazing from each album to the next, largely driven by the power of Bill Kelliher’s moustache!

Check out Mastodon’s latest music videos for The Motherload and High Road and an awesome full live performance from Pink Pop this year
