What ya gunna do, when Hulkamania runs wild on YOU!
The most famous and recognisable face in professional sports worldwide and equally one of the most famous Moustached personalities of all time, Hulk Hogan is this week’s MoBro of the week.
During the 1980’s there was no one more popular in sports entertainment than Hogan. Between 1983-1984,Hulkamania was born and made professional wrestling what it is today!
During his run in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF now WWE) he won the World Championship title 12 times, the WWF/WWE World Heavyweight Championship 6 times. Hogan also won the Royal Rumble in 1990 and 1991, making him the first man to win two consecutive Royal Rumbles.
He is the third longest combined reigning WWF Champion of all time, and holds two of the ten longest title runs in WWF/E history, having held the title for 1,474 days from 1984–1988 (the fourth longest reign of all time) and 364 days from 1989 to 1990 (the 9th longest reign of all time). One of his most memorable matches was defeating Andre the Giant who had the longest running unbeaten streak up until WrestleMania III, where Hogan bodyslammed the 520 pound Andre with the “Bodyslam heard around the world”.
During his time in World Championship Wrestling (WCW) Hogan’s persona changed from being a baby-face (good guy) to the heel (bad guy) Hollywood Hulk Hogan when he joined the N.W.O. (New World Order) with The Outsiders, Kevin Nash & Scott Hall. During his time in WCW Hogan held the WCW World Heavyweight Championship six times.
During his career Hogan has often delved into acting, starring in Rocky III in 1982 alongside Sylvester Stallone, and several family movies during the 90’s; Suburban Commando (1991), Mr. Nanny (1993), Santa with Muscles (1996). In 1994 he even starred in his own T.V. series, Thunder in Paradise.
Throughout his career he has changed his character, image and look multiple times, but the one thing that has always remained is his signature Hogan horseshoe Moustache. This moustache is often imitated at Movember galas worldwide, and was even my inspiration for the 2012 Auckland Movember Gala in which I took out Auckland Man of Movember.
Hulk Hogan is one of the world’s greatest MoBro’s and is an ambassador for Movember. Hulk Hogan and Hulkamania is an immortal legacy that will live forever, and so will that stunning moustache.
So remember to Eat your vitamins and say your prayers brother, cause what ya gonna do when Hulkamania runs wild on you!
