So it finally happened, the much awaited crossover between two of the FOX Network’s most popular prime time cartoon series of all time took place on the 28th September, 2014. The Simpsons Guy, finally introduced the Griffin’s to the Simpson’s.

The basic premise for the Griffin’s visit to Springfield is as below:

When Peter gets annoyed by an unfunny comic strip, he decides to draw his own called “For Pete’s Sake”. His art is a hit at first, but when he offends women with a sexist strip featuring a man whose wife has died telling a doctor “My dishwasher is broken,” the Internet turns against him. He tries to clear his name on Joyce Kinney’s show, but naturally makes it worse. Faced with an angry mob of women at their house, the family decides to flee for their safety until things blow over.

After driving all night, the family stops at a gas station but while they are inside, their car is stolen, leaving them stranded outside a town called Springfield. As Peter tries to find the police station, they stop at the Kwik-E-Mart for food where Homer Simpson introduces himself and offers to buy the Griffins doughnuts.

From here, Bart and Stewie become best buddies bonding over prank phone calls, Lois and Marge have some bonding time, Lisa helps Meg to see she’s not so much the loser child she’s made to feel normally and Brian is stuck hanging out with Santa’s Little Helper who he says speaks a ‘Gutter Language’.

In terms of Peter and Homer, it all starts well, but in true Family Guy fashion it quickly descends into a full on 7 minute fight in the vein of the classic chicken fights.
